Legal Research and Consultancy, International Law and the Law of East Africa Practice

Have you heard of the story of Rip Van Winkle who is alleged to have slept for 20 years?

Let’s adopt the interpratation of this story by the late Dr. Martin Luther King Jr delivered in his last Sunday morning sermon on 31st March 1968. This was at the National Cathedral (Episcopal) in Washington, D.C. on the subject: “Remaining Awake Through a Great Revolution.” He submitted “that the most striking thing about the story of Rip Van Winkle is not merely that Rip slept twenty years, but that he slept through a revolution. While he was peacefully snoring up in the mountain a revolution was taking place that at points would change the course of history – and Rip knew nothing about it: he was asleep. Yes, he slept through a revolution.”

We at CKR Advocates, are wide awake to the revolution wrought into the Kenyan society by the Constitution of 2010. The implementation of the Constitution has transformed the landscape of law and legal practice in Kenya.

We at CKR Advocates, believe that legal research and consultancy constitute the backbone of the contemporary practice of law. The wide range of municipal and international transactions, technological innovations, and political and social developments require a keen acquaintance with all relevant laws.

We undertake general legal advisory services on a retainer basis or upon instructions. We are always available to carry-out in-depth research, advise on and render reasoned opinions on any field of law.
